forbiddencity.bj.cn is an independent visitor information website for the Forbidden City (Palace Museum) in Beijing. We are not the official museum website and we do not represent the Palace Museum administration.

Our team is made up of travel writers, translators and Beijing-based researchers who have collectively visited the Forbidden City more than 200 times. We publish practical visitor guides in 13 languages, covering ticket prices, opening hours, tour comparisons, and detailed pages on individual halls and gardens.

What we do

• Maintain up-to-date practical information sourced from the official Palace Museum site (dpm.org.cn) and verified during regular site visits.
• Compare and recommend ticket and tour options through trusted partners such as Klook.
• Translate visitor guides for travellers who do not read Chinese.

How we make money
